Monday, September 23rd found us leaving Lake Louise, Alberta, the highlight of the tour, to return toward our starting and ending point of Leavenworth, Washington.  Today’s mileage from Lake Louise, Alberta, to Cranbrook, British Columbia, was 170. Here are a couple of shots from Cranbrook:

Tuesday September 24th, we drove approximately 200 miles to Grand Forks, British Columbia.  Here’s Christina Lake on the way:

It was a long drive, but we had time to throw an impromptu party for Bob and Marilynn, who (for medical insurance issues) couldn’t continue cross the US border for our final dinner.  So, we had a “semi-final” gathering in their honor:

Wednesday, September 25th, took us 210 miles to return to Leavenworth, Washington. Here are a couple of shots as we crossed the border back into the US. I think the border officers liked the old cars!

We returned to the Enzian Inn in Leavenworth, Washington, in plenty of time to enjoy our farewell dinner and to say good-bye to old and new tour friends:

After the tour Jay, Terri, Don and I all attended a wedding in Oregon then headed our separate ways home.  I cheated and flew home, but Jay drove Maxi the rest of the way arriving home on Friday, October 4th.  As soon as I can get caught up on laundry we’ll return to a “normal” schedule.  We’re already missing our tour friends and reliving some of the highlights of the tour

Hope to see more of you down the road one of these days…

  1. You definitely made touring part of Canada quite amazing. Love know so many people appreciate the antique cars — and the company of the other people that own the cars.
Lots of beautiful places to visit – lakes to enjoy and food to appreciate. THX Wilma

This is one of the bestest trip documentaries. Does Jay own a pair of long pants? The entire trip brought back so many memories. You captured the beauty of Lake Louise. Thanks for sharing. Glad the Radio Flyer had a good outcome
